Attorney Mathew Kobliska received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1988, and was awarded his Juris Doctorate in 1991 from Wayne State University Law School.  He was admitted to practice law in Michigan in 1991.  Mr. Kobliska has practiced at all levels of trial and appellate courts in the State of Michigan, including the Michigan Court of Appeals, an en banc panel of the Michigan Court of Appeals, and the Michigan Supreme Court, and has filed pleadings with the Supreme Court of the United States.  He has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Kobliska has been named as a "Michigan Super Lawyer" for 2012, in a statewide nomination process. Super Lawyers is an annual jurisdictional listing of outstanding American lawyers from more than 70 areas of private practice. Only five percent of the private practice lawyers from any state or region are included each year. A rigorous multiphase selection process, considering a wide range of objective indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, is used. Mr. Kobliska has been awarded this designation for calendar year 2013 as well.

In addition to being a highly qualified and experienced lawyer, Mr. Kobliska is also a trained mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Kobliska has been approved as a mediator in six county circuit courts in the State of Michigan, and has fulfilled the requirements set forth in Michigan Court Rule 3.216 by completing SCAO approved course work and training under the instruction of internationally acclaimed mediator, lawyer and author, Forrest S. Mosten. Mr. Kobliska is also qualified for court appointment as an arbitrator pursuant to §5073 of the Revised Judicature Act.

In September of 2011, Mr. Kobliska was elected by his peers to the 21-member State Bar of Michigan Family Law Council, for a three-year term.  The Council performs a variety of functions, including the formulating and influencing of proposed legislation on matters pertaining to family law, the development and proposed amendments to the court rules and the professional ethics rules, the filing of amicus curiae briefs with the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court, and the publication of the Michigan Family Law Journal, among other activities.

Mr. Kobliska is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, United States Supreme Court Bar, Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, The Family Mediation Council of Michigan, The Michigan Inter-Professional Association, and the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.

Sections/Committees: American Bar Association Family Law Section, State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section, State Bar of Michigan Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Court Rules & Ethics Committee, and the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section ADR Committee.
